Magazines

Storyworks

I write plays based on myths, fables, and fairytales for a wonderful magazine called Storyworks.

Published by Scholastic, Storyworks is read by over one million kids in their 3rd, 4th, and

5th grade classrooms. These plays are called Reader's Theater because they can be read aloud in

a classroom, and they include narrators who connect the parts of the story.

Some of the students’ favorite plays are:

  • Anansi the Spider, a West African folktale

  • The Tortoise and the Hare, an Aesop fable

  • Yeh Shen, a Chinese Cinderella story

  • The Emperor's New Clothes, a classic fariy tale

Below are some of my Storyworks plays.

Students around the country have posted videos online of themselves performing my Storyworks plays.
